Lakmedura, one of the foremost souvenir boutique shops in the country, is a five storey building that houses a vast array of Sri Lankan treasures. So much so that, it would be next to impossible not to find the perfect souvenir to take home, due to the sheer collection of traditional Sri Lankan artwork showcased.   • The souvenir boutique shop is famed for possessing a comprehensive collection of some of the finest pieces of traditional crafts, ranging from wooden carvings, devil masks, traditional Sri Lankan batiks and other clothing, exquisite Sri Lankan leather products, along with the world famous ‘Ceylon Tea’ and exclusive jewellery.

  • The souvenir shop started out life in a rather modest location in Colombo 3 in 1980, with only a limited number of traditional souvenirs on sale.
  • As a result of the immense success it had since its inception, the souvenir shop moved to a five storey complex where the boutique shop has expanded its collection of treasures stored.
  • The ground floor houses a comprehensive range of authentic Ceylon Tea, along with intricately crafted wood carvings of statues, devil masks and Sri Lankan picture post cards.
  • The first floor is a showcase of some of the finest Sri Lankan gems and jewellery sets, that boast of precious and semi - precious stones, along with intricate workmanship.
  • The second floor houses handmade batik garments and other traditional garments, along with a wide range of rush palm and reed ware.
  • Garments of export quality are housed in the third floor, ranging from your usual ‘I Love Sri Lanka’ t-shirts to other accessories.
  • The fourth floor showcases a genuine Sri Lankan leather products, along with traditional drums of varying shapes and sizes.
  • The fifth floor is a collection of art drawings, pictures, local books, greeting cards made from recycled paper and elephant dung, writing pads, perfumes and even documentary DVDs.

  • The store is open daily from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm, including holidays.
  • Credit and debit cards are accepted, thus making payments all the more easier.
  • If you are on a tight budget, the staff will be more than happy to guide you through souvenirs within your budget.
