Ceylon Tea Trails

Located high in the breathtaking lush greenery of the central hills is Sri Lanka’s first Relais & Chateaux Resort; Ceylon Tea Trails.

Consisting of five tea planters’ bungalows (namely Summerville, Castlereagh, Tientsin, Norwood and Dunkeld) built in the colonial era between 1888 and 1950, which have been revived to radiate the distinct lavish flair and grandeur of that era, the place indulges its visitors with the comfort and luxury enjoyed exclusively by the elite.

Each bungalow, replete with period furniture, carries its own unique distinguishing impression and feel.  The impeccable personal butler service, gourmet meals and top shelf spirits and wines ensure  guests being coddled and cosseted beyond their finest expectations!

Ceylon Tea Trails bungalows are located 2 to 15 kilometres apart from one another, extending abundant privacy and freedom to its guests; however, the bungalows are inter-connected by walking and cycling trails which invite visitors to experience the tranquil splendour of the surrounding tea gardens, valleys, lakes and hills.  In addition, one might also delight in exploring the Bogawantalawa Valley (also known as the Golden Valley of Tea) and gaining an insight into the cultivation, pruning, careful selection and the entire process involved in producing the perfect ‘cuppa.’

If one is in Sri Lanka’s famous tea country, these five bungalows and their 26 suites and rooms are guaranteed to fulfil all his/her heart’s desires and expectations from the scenic location.
